Plastic Surgery - Solves Bullying?!?!

I ran across this article (slightly dated - Jan 12, 2011) that ABC's Good Morning America covered about teens resorting to plastic surgery to help address bullying issues that came from having physical 'flaws' that drew the attention of their tormentors.

A classmate of mine in high school had plastic surgery to alter his nose during our senior year.  If memory serves me correctly, it was a Christmas present from his parents and the procedure was done over the holiday.  I do remember that he did have a very prominant Roman nose and at times received teasing from others.  I wouldn't describe his teasing as excessive...however, who am I do determine the effects of what and how this person felt about himself?  I didn't live in his shoes while in school...I had a difficult time enough just living in mine!

As it turns out, this person now lives near the same city where I live near.  It's been 25 years since we've spoken face to face.  Perhaps we'll have the chance learn someday what he feels the effects of his procedure had on his life when having the opportunity to reflect on a lifetime.

In the meantime, here's the article with that has a video link.  I'd certainly like to hear your thoughts on this...
